Holy Mass – My Energy Booster
From the days of my boyhood in a small town in Kerala, India, the Holy Mass was the center of my life. Each morning, my grandfather held my hand and walked with me to our parish church. The streets were quiet, but the sound of the church bell stirred our hearts with joy.
Inside the church, candles glowed softly, and the fragrance of incense rose like prayer itself. For me as a child, this was heaven on earth.
Lessons from My Grandfather
It was my grandfather who taught me the greatness of the Mass. He would whisper to me:
“The Mass is the most beautiful gift we can offer to Jesus. Every grace you need is here.”
I watched him kneel with deep reverence, his eyes fixed on the altar. From him, I learned that the Mass was not just a prayer, but the sacrifice of Jesus Himself, offered for us.
Encounter with Jesus
The most powerful moment of all was receiving Holy Communion. Each time I received Jesus in the Eucharist, I felt His presence filling me with peace, as if He were saying:
“I am with you always. Do not be afraid.”
Even as a poor boy, struggling with studies and uncertainty, I found new strength after every Mass. The Eucharist truly became my daily energy.
The Power of Adoration
Along with Holy Mass, I often joined in Eucharistic Adoration. Sitting silently before the Blessed Sacrament, I felt Jesus looking at me with love.
There were no words, only silence. Yet in that silence, my heart heard Him clearly: “Stay close to Me.”
Holy Mass as My Strength
As I grew older, I understood what my grandfather had taught me. Every Mass is a fountain of grace.
- When life felt heavy, the Eucharist gave me peace.
- When I was tired, the Eucharist refreshed me.
- When I felt weak, the Eucharist gave me strength.
Even now, I never want to miss Holy Mass. It is my spiritual energy booster — the Bread of Life that carries me through every challenge.
My Lifelong Prayer
The little saints, like St. Dominic Savio and St. Thérèse of Lisieux, inspired me as a child to attend Mass with joy. Today, as an adult, I pray that my love for the Eucharist will only grow stronger.
The Mass is not only my strength — it is my greatest treasure. It is here that I meet Jesus face to face.
Closing Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for the gift of the Holy Mass. Thank You for coming to me in the Eucharist. May I never take this grace for granted. Fill me with Your strength each day, and make me faithful to Your presence until my last breath. Amen.
